The Honeycomb Festival is an independent annual performance platform for young people aged 8 to 18 based at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury. ​ The Festival started life as a community dance platform run by the district council at the Aylesbury Civic Centre. In 2010 the festival moved from the Civic centre to the brand new Waterside Theatre and expanded to two days of dance several years later. The Festival has a wonderful ethos; to provide talented young people from the local area with a non-competitive performance platform.​ Honeycomb now draws in performers from across Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties.

Honeycomb asked Fivespoons to design a website for the 2018 festival that needed to address a number of things.  Firstly the site needed to be welcoming and encourage applications, showcasing past performers and the huge range of diversity of those performers. It also needed to be able to take applications online and store that data for ease of use, replacing the previous paper based applications process, which was hugely time consuming.  We've built an online application that automatically populates a spreadsheet that can be exported at any time - ensuring all applications are in one place and readily available.  We've also built a member's log-in area so successful applicants can download all the specific documentation they will need in due course.

We've created a visually pleasing site with the key functionality the Festival needs built in.
